Harriett Casey Meyer passed away at age 92 on February 2, 2021 at home with her daughter, Barbara, by her side. Harriett was born on February 29, 1928 in Henryville, Indiana. One of twelve children born to Seymour and Anna Ritchey Casey. On September 3, 1950 Harriett married Harold Meyer at St. John's Lutheran Church White Creek. Harold passed away on September 12, 2014.
She is survived by two children, Michael (Linda) Meyer of Columbus, Indiana and Barbara (David) Lewis of Flower Mound, Texas. She is also survived by one grandson, David (Melissa) Meyer of Columbus, Indiana and one great granddaughter, Morgan Meyer of Columbus, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings, Roy Casey, Ruby Casey, Melvin Casey, Ervin Casey, Charles Casey, Willard Casey, Franklin Casey, Leonard Casey, Amos Casey and Virginia Casey Linn. She is survived by a sister Helen Casey Spalding of Salem, Indiana and special friends Shirley Todd and Cheri Fox of Columbus, Indiana.
Harriett is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church White Creek. She loved taking care of her house and working in her yard and always took great pride in everything she did. She was the queen of lint rolling who loved attention, especially complements about how young she looked. Harriett was always smiling and made people laugh.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday February 6, 2021 at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday February 7, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church Whitecreek with Pastor Justin Whitmore officiating with visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family asks that memorial gifts be made to St. John's Lutheran Church White Creek Columbus, Indiana.
