Daughter of James Carter and Salina Roxanna Dean. Born in Webberville, Travis Co., Texas. About 1869, the James Carter family moved to Waco. Bell married Francis Brook Cary on 12-23-1873 in her parents' home. Brook and Bell lived in both Bell and McLennan Counties before moving to Van Zandt County in the late 1890s. Bell's sister Amanda Hunter also moved to Van Zandt County at that time. Children of Brook and Bell Cary: Pearl, Vada, Everette Franklin, Wade, Bessie, Elmer, Leatha, and Ruby.
