She met and married the love of her life Norman shortly after high school, and the two of them stood by each other over all the years. She worked as a fashion model for many years, charming everyone she met with not only her exquisite beauty, but her appreciative and generous spirit. She was a Christian girl who reflected the very best of her faith.
At age 24, Carol was diagnosed with a severe mental illness, which she courageously struggled with throughout her life. Despite these challenges, and recently developing terminal cancer, she never complained about anything, and greeted each day with a cheerful “Good morning!” She delighted in the beauty of everything, from the leaves on the trees to the sunshine coming through the window.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mildred Thompson of Norfolk, VA. She is survived by her loving husband, Norman; two brothers and one sister.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk under the direction of Hollomon-Brown Bayside chapel. The date and time is pending. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make a donation to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be made to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
