"After a long illness, Richard Russo of Casselberry, FL was called home to the Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Richard was born in Newark, NJ on June 25, 1937, the youngest child of six children. After his family moved to Miami, he graduated from Miami Edison High School. He served in the United States Air Force, and later earned a degree from Rollins College. He worked at the Kennedy Space Center, and as a social worker for the State of Florida. He served his community as a member of the PTA, the Local School Advisory Committee, and the Seminole County Democratic Executive Committee. He was also twice elected as a Councilman for the City of Casselberry.

Richard was a humble man who was always able to find the good in everyone and everything. Even his beloved Miami Dolphins. A longtime parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, Richard’s life was guided by his faith, and his love for his family.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Corinne, and his children, Diane (Steve) and John (Holly). He will also be fondly remembered by his three grandsons Maximilian, Alexander, and Leo, by his brothers Jerry (Shirley) and Gene (Ann), and by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard was predeceased by his parents, and his sisters Anna, Noma, and Agnes.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 1 at 1:30 pm, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park."
