Brian Scott Morgan, 44 of Granite City, Illinois passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
Brian was born on January 25, 1977 in Granite City and was a professional self employed landscaper who loved to be outside. Brian’s greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren, who he was so proud of. Brian had a special love of music, especially his favorite band, Van Halen. Brian will be remembered for the love of his family and all the special times they shared together.
Brian is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Amanda (Byrd) Morgan, whom he married on June 14, 1996; his dad and step mom, Gary “Doc” and Kellie Morgan of Granite City; his children, Courtney Morgan of Granite City, Brian Scott and Makayla Morgan Jr. of Jerseyville, IL, Kara Morgan of Granite City, Mercedes Morgan of Granite City; grandchildren, Brayden Morgan and Ryn Morgan; brothers, Chris Morgan and Jason Morgan; sister-in-law, Sheila Holtgrave; brother-in-law, Carl and Margaret Byrd; mother-in-law, Jeri and Dale Penberthy; nieces, Misty Holtgrave, Serena ; nephews, Chris Morgan Jr., Alex Morgan, Billy Holtgrave, Logan Holtgrave, Brenden Morgan and many other close family members and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his mom; Linda (Jones) Morgan his father-in-law, Carl Byrd Sr., a nephew, Alan and his brother-in-law, Brian Byrd.
In celebration of Brian’s life, a private family memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorial donations are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
