James Newell Nutt, Jr of Oshkosh, WI passed away unexpectedly on Friday January 8, 2021. Jim was born March 12, 1959 to James Sr and Luella (Berger) Nutt.

He grew up in Amberg, WI, graduating from Wausaukee High School in 1976.

Jim married Cheri Haupt on January 7, 1978 in Wausaukee, WI.
They were blessed with 2 sons and 2 daughters before their divorce.

Jim worked at Marinette Marine, then he then moved to Oshkosh accepting a job with Oshkosh Truck Corp and eventually retiring from One Stop Service Center after many years.
Upon moving to Oshkosh, Jim took an apartment above Pinky's and would occasionally stop in for a beer after work.
This is where he met Christine Rohde and their love story began.
After convincing her to go on a date with him, Chris and Jim were inseparable. After being engaged for 6 years, they finally married on May 1, 1998. Jim inherited 2 children and Chris 4, giving her the total of 6 kids she always wanted. Love for their family was never in short supply.

Jim loved his family immensely and would talk about his kids and grandkids to anyone and everyone that would listen. You could often find him with family and friends and he was always the life of the party. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing on his computer, watching movies, wood working, throwing horseshoes, shooting darts, dancing and cooking. He was a master on his grill! No one ever left his house hungry! Jim had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved and could always make you laugh. He was rarely called by name, but was instead known as Papa, Uncle Jim or affectionately as Nutt; all of which he adored.

Jim is survived by his wife of 29 yrs Chris;
6 children: Michael (Aimee) Nutt, Joseph (Stacey) Nutt;
Amy (Jason) Schmidt, Jamie (Travis) Vassar, Mike (Amanda) Rohde and Jennifer (Brandon) Riley [Chris's children];
21 grandchildren: Madison, Gage, Autumn, Emma, Hunter, Lilie, Kaden, Bella, Lilly, Rebekah, Madeline, Corey, Micah, Makayla, Austin, Jude, Aubree, Ethan, Isaiah, Caleb, and Kayleigh;
his mother Luella Nutt;
mother-in-law Bernadyne Wilson;
5 siblings: Nathan, Jesse, Kristine, Cheryl and Debbie;
7 brothers-in-law, 5 sisters-in-law, many cousins, nieces, nephews, “adopted children/grandchildren”, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father James Nutt Sr, nieces: Sarah Willis and Victoria Folk-Horkman; nephew Mark Willis Jr; Father-in-law Larry Wilson Sr; Grandparents: Newell and Agnes Nutt and Theodore and Alice Berger and special friend James Fyhrlund.

In keeping with Jim's wishes there will be a celebration of life January 23, 2021 at Acee Deucee 1329 Oregon St Oshkosh, WI 54902. Visitation will be held from 10am to the time of service at 1pm.
