Henry Hesse (Henry2, unknown1) was born August 16, 1867 in the hamlet of Bethel in Wilmot Township, Waterloo County. During the 1891 Wilmot Census, Henry is listed as age 25, single and farming at home on his parent’s farm. He was married not long after, on February 7, 1893 (012282) in New Dundee to Elizabeth Main. Elizabeth was born May 12, 1875, in Wilmot Township. Witnesses to the wedding were John Kelly and Mary June Main. At the time of the 1901 Census, Henry, Elizabeth and their family were farming at Lot 6 Concession 14, in Blandford Township. Elizabeth died young, on July 18, 1904 (021165) at age 29, from complications associated with acute peridontis. She was buried in New Dundee, near her parents. Find A Grave 134916322.

Henry married again, at age 40, on November 7, 1907 (020831) to his 2nd wife Lena Lavinia Siebert. They were married by W.J. Yeager. Lavinia was born March 27, 1877 in Wilmot Township, Waterloo County. Henry continued farming in Blandford with Lavinia. The 1921 Wilmot Census shows Henry 53, "Louisa" 40, "Harrey" 21, and Viola 8. Henry died in April, 1951 and was buried in Bethel United Church Cemetery, Wilmot Township. Lavinia died in January, 1966 and was buried with Henry. Elizabeth’s parents: William Main (b.
