John Eugene 'Jack' McElrath, Jr. TOWN OF ULSTER- John Eugene "Jack" McElrath, Jr., 68, of Old Stage Rd., town of Ulster, died suddenly on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan. Born in Kingston on Aug. 25, 1943, a son of the late John E. McElrath, Sr. and Lillian (Ewel) Fritz. Jack retired in 2003 from Dyno Nobel after forty years of service. He was currently employed by Iron Mountain in Port Ewen and was an avid bowler for many years. Surviving is his wife, Barbara (Van Etten) McElrath of the town of Ulster; children, John E. McElrath, III and his wife, Michele of Kingston, Danielle McElrath and her companion, Brian Leidy of Kingston, and Caitlin E. McElrath of Wilmington, Del., brothers and sisters; Ferrell McElrath and his wife, Maryann of Saugerties, Ronald McElrath of Ulster Park, Gary McElrath of Hurley, Lillian Campbell and her husband, Robert of Ulster Park and Joyce Huddleston and her husband, Joe of Texas; his grandchildren, Marissa McMillian, Cassidy Leidy, Timothy and Ryan McElrath, all of Kingston. He also leaves behind his aunt, Clara Pritchard who was very dear to his heart. A sister, Jeanne McElrath predeceased him. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue. www.jvleahyfh.com The McElrath family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 3 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Marion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to All The Difference, 3521 Silverside Road, Suite 2-L Quillen Bldg., Wilmington, Del., 19810. Jack was a strong believer and supporter of their approach to working with children with developmental differences.
