Eleanor R. (Anderson) Jones, 81, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, on Friday, February 5, 2021.
Funeral services take place at 1 pm on Wednesday, February 10, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation occurs two hours prior from 11 am until the service hour at the Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be live streamed on the “Lemke Funeral Home” Facebook page.
Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Eleanor was born May 15, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of John F. and Lillian S. (Chase) Anderson. She was a graduate of Clinton High School.
Eleanor was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Jones on April 25, 1963 in Clinton, Iowa.
Eleanor worked at Mercy Hospital, as a Nurse Assistant, in the Pediatric ward for 28 years. She then worked as a home health care provider, to the elderly, for another 22 years. Following her retirement, she was often requested by at-home elderly patients for continued assistance and she always lovingly volunteered her help.
When Eleanor was younger, she loved to go fishing in Sabula. Later in life, she enjoyed playing with her teammates in league bowling. From time-to-time she enjoyed visiting the local Casino and socializing with friends there and she enjoyed playing Bingo.
Above all, she loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter – Ellie Dirks of Maquoketa, Iowa; two grandchildren – Missy and Michael; three brothers – John F. (Linda) Anderson of Tucson, AZ, Don Anderson and Michael Anderson both of Clinton; one sister in-law Linda Anderson with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends, as well as, very close friends – Mary Ellen Hopper of Des Moines, Iowa, Audrey Lemanski of Michigan and Betty McPeck of Clinton, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers – Marvin and Robert.
