Gertrude M. Artze,85 of Decatur died Aug 12,1997 in Decatur Memorial hospital. She was a homemaker and member of Pilgrim Lutheran church.
She was born in Fayette county on April 18, 1912 the daughter of John and Emma Rubin Loetz. She married Otto H. Artz in Decatur on April 21, 1934 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 10,1983.
Surviving are her son, Ralph Artze of Houston, Texas,daughter Martha Bombell of Decatur,brothers, Carl,of Shobonier,Alwin of St. Peter,sister,Ruth Niehaus of Vandalia, 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,brothers.
Funeral services will be Saturday at Dawsons with burial in the Lutheran cemetery.
