MRS. ADOLPH ARTZE SERVICES WEDNESDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Adolph (Frieda) Artze of 1469 E. Grand Ave. will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's Lutheran Church, with burial in Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today in the J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home, & in the church from 11 a.m. Wednesday to service time. Mrs. Artze, 84, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday in the Muirhead Nursing Home. She had been ill for a year & a half. Mrs. Artze was born Feb 17 1844, in East Prussia, Germany, a daughter of August & Wilhelmina Sadowski Salefski. She came from Germany to Decatur 80 1/2 years ago. She was a charter member of St. John's Lutheran Church & a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society.She married Adolph Artze Sept 1, 1906 in Decatur. He preceded her in death Sept 1, 1953. She leaves 5 sons, Edward, Otto, William, Albert & Walter, all of Decatur; 2 brothers, Otto Salefski of Chula Vista, CA; & William Salefski of Decatur; 1 sister, Mrs. Veke (Mary) Foley of Decatur; 7 grandchildren; & 6 great-grandchildren. One granddaughter, 1 sister & 1 brother preceded her in death.
