DECATUR REVIEW - ADOLPH ARTZE, 70, BRICK CONTRACTOR, DIES
Adolph Artze, 70, of 1469 E. Grand Ave., died at 1:20 a.m. today in St. Mary's Hospital following an illness of 6 weeks. Today was the 47th wedding anniversary of Mr. Artze & his wife. Mr. Artze was born in East Prussia, Germany, Jan 28 1883 & came to Decatur 49 years ago. He had been a brick contractor. He was married to Miss Freda Salefski in Decatur Sept 1, 1906 .He leaves his wife, 5 sons, Edward, Otto, William, Albert & Walter, all of Decatur; a brother, Otto in Germany; & 8 grandchildren.He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.The body is at J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 p.m. today until 11 a.m. Thursday. The body will be taken to St. John's Lutheran Church at noon Thursday where friends may call until funeral time at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
