LAWSONVILLE, NC ~ Kathleen Mills Moore, 98, passed away on Thursday, February 4, at her residence.

The graveside service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Peters Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Kathleen can be viewed Friday, February 5, 2021, from 1 pm until 6 pm and Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 9 am to 12 pm at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. The family will receive friends at the gravesite following the graveside service. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and face coverings are required.

Mrs. Moore was born October 30, 1922, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Samuel Hylton Mills and Maggie Mae Slate Mills.

She had been a member of Peters Creek Baptist Church since 1948.

She and her husband Clay owned and operated C.C. Moore & Son, Inc., for many years.

She was a friend to everyone who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cary Clay Moore; a son, Herbert Moore; grandson, Christopher Moore; brothers: Billy, Robert, Marvin, Junior, and Shelburne Mills; and sisters: Nannie Sue Biggs, Lula Mae Amos, Elizabeth Plaster, and Mary Nance Thomas.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Linda Moore; son, Matthew Moore and wife Faye; a grandson, Donovan Moore, and wife Lessa; great-grandchildren: Cory and Addison Moore; step-grandchildren: Janice Moore, Lisa Hall, Teresa Stegall, Neal Bullins, and Kyndle Bullins Joyce; eleven step-grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Roxie Belcher (Donald).

Special thanks to caregivers Linda Moore, Teresa Stegall, and Lisa Mabe for the care that was given to Kathleen.
