Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, February 4 2021, Roy Evans Watkins, 87, loving husband of 62 years to Cozette Rutland Watkins.

Roy was born in Augusta and grew up in Frog Hollow. He graduated from the Academy of Richmond County where he played baseball. Roy enlisted in the Navy and served on the USS St. Paul for 3 years. After the service Roy was one of the earliest employees to work at DuPont (SRS), and then worked in Real Estate and the Building Industry. He was president of the Augusta Real Estate Association in the early 70’s.

Family members in addition to his wife include his sister, Shirley W. Farmer; brother: the late John Thomas Watkins, Jr, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the pandemic.

In lieu of flowers donations are asked to be made to Emily S. Baumann Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy Fund (8278-T), MCG Foundation Inc. 720 St. Sebastian Way, Suite 150, Augusta, GA 30901 or to the Children’s Hospital of GA at Augusta University, 1446 Harper Street, Augusta, GA 30912.
