June Harrell Edwards, 86, of Galatia, passed away at home, Thursday, January 28, 2021.
June was born September 5, 1934 in Bertie County to Joe and Nettie Harrell.
June loved her family, friends and neighbors and all who knew her loved her kind, gentle spirit. She especially enjoyed cooking family Sunday lunches. She was a faithful member of Galatia Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Junius Edwards, daughter, Rhonda Meeks Peace; sisters, Clara Brantley and Vera Godwin; brothers, Raleigh, Johnny, Elliott, Dailey, J.S., Owen and Calvin Harrell.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Meeks Buffaloe and husband, Chuck of Conway and Melissa Edwards Barnes and husband Glen of Galatia; grandaughter, Adrienne Pittman and husband Patrick, grandson, Christopher Buffaloe and wife Kelley; great- grandsons, Jordan, Draven, Memphis and Malachi Pittman, sister, Sue Parker; sister in laws, Jackie Edwards, Cora Lee Harrell and Thelma Hobbs.
A Graveside services will be held Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Bridgers Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Dupuy officiating. Due to COVID, social distancing and wearing masks are encouraged. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Galatia Baptist Church.
