Janette Louise Jones, our loving and devoted mother, sister, nana, aunt and friend was born September 27, 1932 in Blythe, CA to Samuel and Ianther White. She was called home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2021 at Redlands Community Hospital, at the age of 88.
Janette graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1949. As a young adult, she loved to bowl and play softball. You could also catch her on the canals in Blythe, fishing. Shortly after graduating, she met and married Jimmie G. Jones on July 28, 1950 who she remained married to until his passing in 2005. The couple had five daughters, Janet (Charles), Gaynell, Terry (Royace), Linda, and Laura (JR).
While raising her children, Janette worked briefly as a bus driver, cashier at Sprouts Ritz, and spent time volunteering at the local food pantry. She was a long time member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Blythe, where she attended faithfully until she moved to Riverside in 2013.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Ianther, her husband of fifty four years, Jimmie Jones. Brothers James, William, Samuel Jr, Albert, Thomas, and Earnest. Grandson, Sidney and great grandson Gary Shane.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her five daughters. Sister, Sadie Hines and brother Joseph White, 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 10th, 2021 at Frye Chapel. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and funeral ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m. Burial services will follow at Palo Verde Cemetery.
