James R. Webster of Lincoln, age 71, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday January 19, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents Radmore Webster and Verna (Webster) Honaker, his in-laws Frank and Pauline (Matulka) Kadavy, as well as his brother-in-law’s Ken Kadavy, Stuart Vculek and sister-in-law Joan (Dorenbach) Webster.

Jim is survived by his wife Bonnie (Kadavy) Webster, daughters Sarah (Ramirez) Webster, Colette (Webster) Moore and Son-in-law Gregory Webster-Moore; sister Phyllis (Webster) Vculek, brother Jack Webster, and sister-in-law Kay (Brannen) Kadavy; seven grandchildren: Gage, Jordan, Serena, Jasmine, Gabby, Kayden and Jake; as well as great-grandchildren Armani, Leilani, and Samarah.

Jim Webster married a small-town girl from Dwight, NE in 1972 and was a devoted husband. He loved watching “My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding” because it reminded him so much of how he married into a crazy, Czech family. He was the most caring, generous, and selfless father, and a proud, loving grandfather. A Lincoln native and Northeast High School graduate, Jim was a hardworking, family-man who would do anything within his means to help someone in need. After retiring as a Brakeman/Conductor from Burlington Northern Railroad, Jim owned & ran a small screen-printing business and in his later years, worked as a private investigator for a local law firm. He had a soft spot for dogs and more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and keeping up with all of the activities and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, whom he loved so much. Jim also enjoyed watching sporting events of any kind, especially the Huskers (not as much since Tom left), the Oakland Raiders, and the NY Yankees. He would often watch (and curse at) MSNBC to follow national and world events. In his final days, he took great satisfaction in knowing that his “buddy” TRUMP would soon be replaced in office. He loved the warm Nebraska summers and even though he couldn’t always do everything he wanted to do, he was a dreamer and was always willing to talk about going on wild adventures! Now he is free to go do and see all of the things he never got the chance to do in his “earthly” life. Safe travels and God’s speed!
