Joan Faye Johnson Adams
December 21, 1949 – February 3, 2021

Joan Faye Johnson Adams, of Seaside, California, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Monterey County, California. She was born on December 21, 1949 in Huntsville, Alabama to John and Marion Pearl Johnson. She was one of seven children, four of which preceded her in death, and two surviving siblings; her older sister Gloria Jean Gurley and her younger brother Ronnie Lanier.

She lived a life of laughter and spontaneity, traveling around the world as a military wife she left a lasting impressing on everyone she came in contact with. She LOVED her family, her motto was to give her children everything she didn't have as a child. Joan's biggest pleasure was entertaining; always the life of the party whether hosting backyard BBQs to dancing down the isles at the Monterey Blues Festival. She enjoyed serving her community, coordinating fundraisers for various organizations, delivering tasty deserts to the veterans at the American Legion, and always a friend to anyone who needed one. Joan had a very loving heart and strived to love the best way she knew how. She was known to everyone in the community as "Ms. Honey".

Joan worked as a Food Service Working/Supervisor in the Military Dining Facilities aka "Mess Hall" for 20 years, she worked as a coder for 10+ years with McGraw Hill Publishing Company, and moved on to become the office manager for her husband's business Veterans Landscape/Hauling/Maintenance Company.

Joan was a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church in Seaside, California. She was an excellent servant of the Lord and she knew Jesus Christ in the pardon of her sins. Joan made a joyful noise unto the Lord at worship services. She would sometimes stand alone and support the choirs singing praises to the Lord. Joan loved her family, her church family and just about everyone she met. Joan was that type of person.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charlie L. Adams Sr; her 3 children, Burgess Edward Lanier(Shawntel) , Charlene Laranda English (Steve), and Charlie Lee Adams Jr (Vitaelola); 11 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Joan was loved by all, she will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Mission Memorial Park, 1915 Ord Grove Avenue, Seaside, California 93955.

Arrangements by Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena Street, Seaside, California.
