GALESBURG -- Mary C. Anderson, 84, of 1384 N. Henderson St. died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 1997, at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.

Born Jan. 18, 1913, in Glasgow, Ky., to John W. and Emma E. Vance Simmons, she married Richard L. Anderson on Oct. 12, 1930, in Galesburg. He died Sept. 22, 1981. She also was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Richard L. of Galesburg and Terry D. of Flower Mound, Texas; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, George D. Simmons of Galesburg.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Revs. Edwin Nelson and Lee Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg.
