Daniel Glenn Holmes
April 22, 1957 - January 10, 2021

Daniel Glenn Holmes, 63, of Tulare, California, passed away unexpectedly on January 10th, 2021 while pursuing his favorite lifetime hobby, fishing in the great outdoors.

Danny was born and raised in Tulare, California, the first son to Richard and Glenna McIntosh Holmes. Danny graduated from Tulare Western in 1975. In 1978, he married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth McAllister and they were happily married for 32 years. Together they had two children, and later welcomed two grandchildren. Danny was so proud of his children. As a father, he loved being involved in his kids' sports and activities. He was a Boy Scout leader and loved the summers he spent watching his children swim for Tulare Sharks. He enjoyed many years of annual father-son hiking trips with his son and friends.

In 1977, Danny began working for a local vending company, where he was employed for over 30+ years. Danny was a hardworking man and the most loyal and dependable employee anyone could ask for. He always took great pride in his work and instilled a strong work ethic in his children.

In 2014, Danny met and fell in love again, with Caroline Munoz. As they began their new life together, they never forgot their past lives nor cherished memories, but looked forward to making new ones. They made a home together and Danny became a part of a new extended family. They loved him and he loved them in return. Danny and Caroline loved traveling together in their RV to the beach and mountains, BBQ cook outs, and sharing time together with their friends new and old.

Over the years, Danny enjoyed playing softball for the Tulare City leagues and was a member of Tulare Elks. He was a very talented carpenter and made many hand-crafted wood items to treasure for all time. He had culinary skills and loved conjuring up meals, often without recipes. He loved being outdoors. One of his greatest passions was fishing. Dan would fish everyday if possible. You could find him out at any of the surrounding lakes, ponds, or canals often accompanied by some of his oldest and dearest friends. Their lifelong friendships brought him so much joy.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Glenna Holmes; and his nephew, Jason Linebarger McAllister. Danny was survived by his love, Caroline Munoz; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Brandon and Dayne (Callum) Holmes; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Melissa and Clint Goto; Grandson, Cameron Goto; Granddaughter, Claire Goto; Brother and Sister-in-Law, Todd and Grace Holmes; Sister and Brother-in-Law, Terry and Kristi Wallen. And many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Extended family, Tamara Rhodes, Jordan and Slene Vasquez, Kyrstyn and Julius Gilbert, and their son Mason; Mother-In-Law, Katie McAllister; Wife of 32 years, Elizabeth (McAllister) Holmes; Brother-in-Law, Steven McAllister.

We will forever be grateful for our time with Danny. Due to COVID-19, his life and legacy will be honored in a private service. Condolences may be offered by logging onto
