Obituary:
Robbinsville NC - Ruth Brown, 83, stepped into heaven on Friday, February 5, 2021, with her family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Ruth was a native of Edwardsville, AL, but made Robbinsville her home for 47 years where she raised her family with her best friend and love of her life for 65 years, Scooter Brown.

Ruth was a member of Robbinsville First Baptist Church where she served in the Children’s Nursery and Sunday School, and the Hospitality Committee for many years. Ruth had a servant’s heart and was always behind the scenes loving babies and children and serving in any way she could. Her truest love was her husband, her family, and her friends. Her sweet spirit and servant’s heart will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Bessie Austin.

She leaves behind her husband, Scooter Brown, her three daughters and their families, Yvette and Chip Carringer, Robbinsville, NC, Yvonne and David Foster, Statesville, NC, and Alicia and Rick Parham, Robbinsville, NC; and her aunt and loving friend, Polly Walker. Her grandchildren are Taylor Carringer and his wife, Mandi, Tucker Carringer and his wife, Shannon, Carson Foster, Carrie Foster, Brylee Parham, and Baylee Parham. Ruth has two beautiful great grandchildren, Clara Ruth Carringer and Joel Everett Carringer. Also celebrating Ruth’s life are her lifelong friend and “adopted” daughter, Karen Maynard, along with her companion and caregiver, Donna George, as well as several other loving caregivers.
