Born in Philadelphia to the late William and Mary (nee McPherson) McLaughlin, “H-E” was a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School and honorably served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a Battalion Chief for the Philadelphia Fire Department, retiring in 1976.
Robert was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Margaret Mary (nee Green) and his son Kevin McLaughlin and is survived by his loving children Robert “Bob” McLaughlin, Jr. (Maryellen), Margie (Ed) Brown and Bill (Eileen) McLaughlin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was pre-deceased by his siblings William, Edward, Harry, Jane, Margie and Betty.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Friday, February 12th at 10:00 AM at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
