Joan Hyde, 83, of Alma passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at her home.
Joan was born March 24, 1937 in Long Branch New Jersey to the late Henry and Valerie (Howland) Heffelfinger. Additionally, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Arthur Hyde, and sister, Valerie Mae Heffelfinger.

She was a retired nurse and attended the Church of God International. Joan was an accomplished painter earning many accolades. In addition to painting, she loved spending time with her family and dogs.

Joan is survived by daughter, Joanie Gail Boyle and Husband Gary of Alma; son, Jack Lee Hyde of the home; sisters, Carol Fyle and Holly Stimax; brother, Roger Heffelfinger; grandchildren, Jennifer Boyle, Michael Boyle, and Lydia Summerlin; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 12:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Ocker Chapel in Alma, Arkansas with burial following at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at Ocker Funeral Home in Alma. The service will be livestreamed on Ocker-Putman Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
Pallbearers will be Oscar Boyle, Bryan Jones, Robby Summerlin, Michael Boyle, Gary Boyle, and Guyjack Jones.
