James "Jim" Charles Jarrell, of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2017. He was born in Joliet, Illinois on April 3, 1932 to Odeal Schieffer Jarrell and Curtis Fletcher Jarrell.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army, ranked as a PVT 2CL, stationed in Germany and was in the Korean War. After graduating from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he moved to Findlay, Ohio, where he began his career in Information Technology field and enjoyed participating in sports car rallies, golf and bowling. After moving to Houston in 1969, he continued in this field, and became active in Boy Scouts and Little League Baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Hand Jarrell; children, Jacki Jarrell Taylor and husband Jim, John C Jarrell and wife Paulette; grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor, Matthew Jarrell and wife Julia, Kristen Jarrell, Melissa Jarrell; great-grandchildren, Taylor Cabiness, Emerson Jarrell; sisters, Sallie Jarrell Wade and husband C.N., JoAnne Jarrell Allen and husband Richard; brother, Curtis Jarrell and wife Josephine; sister-in-law, Lucille Hand, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
