The Norman family lived at the Rookery, Bromley Common. The Rookery burned down in 1946. The Norman family also owned Oakley House, another substantial Mansion. This was lent in 1915 as a hospital in the war as well as part of their main home the Rookery. Oakley House is now a Masonic Lodge. The Rookery stood where Bromley College is now and Norman Park.

His son Francis is in the railed grave in the plot to the left. His grave is clear and in good condition. His father is buried in the plot next to Francis

Archibald was father to the well known Bromley Resident, Major-General Charles W. Norman (1891-1974) Sheriff of Kent and President of the Kent County Cricket Club.

Gravesite Details

The stone itself, once grand is in a decent condition. Looks in one solid piece and the writing is still clear and easy to read. The ground underneath is sinking leaving holes on all sides . It is 2/3 covered in brambles and ivy.
