Obituary for Glenn Eugene Alford (Lebanon)

Glenn Eugene Alford, son of Oreth “Bid” and Muriel “Dolly” Melvin Alford, was born December 9, 1934, in Grovespring, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, March 17, 2020, in Lebanon South and Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, three months, and eight days.

On October 13, 1956, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth A. Keesling, and to this union one daughter was born.

His parents preceded him in death.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Elizabeth, of the home; a daughter, Patricia Crenshaw, and her husband, Thomas, of St. Charles, Missouri; two grandsons, Jeffery Crenshaw, and his wife, Carrie, and Andrew Crenshaw, all of St. Charles, Missouri; a great-grandson, Colt Crenshaw, of St. Charles, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Iris Keesling; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

He was born and raised in the Grovespring community, and then made his home near Lebanon for most of his life. Glenn was a truck driver for Hiland Dairy and then Yellow Freight. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

Glenn was a longtime faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and attended Washington Christian Church.

He liked driving and being on the road, but also enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed having time with his grandsons and great-grandson.

Glenn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.

A memorial has been established to Rader Cemetery.
