Vera Patterson, age 88, of Russellville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 5, 2021. She was born November 5, 1932, at Witts Springs, Arkansas to Floyd James and America Harness Taylor.

She attended Happy Valley Assembly of God and Atkins First Freewill Baptist Church. Her greatest passion in life was serving the Lord and sharing her faith with anyone she encountered. If you knew her, you can be assured you were in her prayers. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She was a light to all those around her. She will be greatly missed and heaven is a brighter place having received her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Eugene Housley and Elva Patterson; two brothers, Herschel Taylor and Carl Taylor; two sisters, Edna Watts and Agnes Blair.

Survivors include two sons, Eddie (Sharon) Housley, Jimmy (Darlene) Housley, both of Russellville; five daughters, Peggy (Guinn) Aday of Leslie, Karen (Carroll) DuVall of Conway, Deanna (Gary) Hickey of Russellville, Jeanette (Jeff) Small of Atkins and Kathleen Housley of Fayetteville; step-daughter Sharon Henderson; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Coy Taylor and sister, Beulah Ruble.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Atkins First Freewill Baptist with the Rev. Chris Beasley and Rev. Scott Freeman officiating. Burial will be private at Witts Springs Cemetery and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

An open viewing will be held on Monday from 1:00-4:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Brent Aday, Jimmy E. Housley, Allen Housley, Steven Housley, Douglas Housley, Darrell Housley, Steve DuVall, Heath Kizer, and PJ Bradford.

Honorary pallbearers are Guinn Aday, Carroll DuVall, Gary Hickey, Jeff Small, Jonathan Watson and Audie White.
