He was a retired architectural brick salesman, owner-operator of art needlework shops in Michigan City, a longtime member of Potawatomi Chapter of the Audubon Society, a member of First Congregational Church and Lions Club, both in Michigan City, and Farm Bureau of LaPorte County, and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict who received the Good Conduct Medal.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, the former Joan Vlock; a daughter, Lisa Barker; three brothers, Eldon, Robert, and Joseph Barker; and a grandson.
Visitation: Tuesday, Aug. 14, after 1 p.m. at Pearson's in Louisville.
Memorial service: Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Bernheim Arboretum.
