Kathleen Stratton Cooper, 83, wife of 68 years to James Donald “JD” Don Cooper, passed to her eternal home on Friday, February 5, 2021.
Born September 22, 1937 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin Stratton and Lillian Kathleen Gortney. Kathleen was raised by the late Juanita Stratton and was preceded in death by a son, John Kelly Cooper.
A member of the Corinth Christian Church, she wrote the Birdie Notes for the Anderson News for over 23 years and worked as an Income Tax preparer for over 23 years.
Including Don, her husband, she is survived by three sons, Don Lawrence “Larry” Cooper and his wife Shirley of Lawrenceburg, Gene Alan Cooper and his wife Vickie of Mackville, Terry Lynn Cooper and his wife Janet of Lawrenceburg; 11 grandchildren, Tabatha Lynn (Jamie) Florian, Jim (Kayla) Cooper, Chad (Lauren) Cooper, Audrey (Junior) Pauleus, Emily (Charles) Luttrell, Joshua (Nichole) Cooper, Michael (Hayley) Cooper, Laura Cooper, Will (Emi) Cooper, Sara (Bart) Price, Amanda (Jason) Hayes; 22 great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia “Gigi” Norris (Ben) Moffett of Lawrenceburg; and two brothers, Ben Franklin (Janie) Stratton of Lawrenceburg and Michael Bennett Peach of Versailles.
Private services will be held on Monday at Corinth Christian Church. Terry Cooper and other members of the family will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery.
