Ralph “R.E.” Emerson Hall, 86, of Sardis, Ohio died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 while at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV.

“R.E.” was born June 29, 1934 in Fly, Ohio; son of the late Francis M. and Clara Belle (Straight) Hall.

He was a retired crane operator for the former Ormet Corp. In 1960 he joined the Sardis Volunteer Fire Department and later served as the fire chief for twenty-five years. He was a member and elder of the Sardis Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Twila Mae Hall.

Surviving are his two sons, Greg (Lori) Hall and Doug (Rhonda) Hall both of Pickerington, OH; five grandchildren, Joe (Sarah) Lohr, Benjamin (Jessica) Lohr, Joshua (Kaleigh) Hall, Abigail (Cameron) Haynes and Kaitlyn (John) Forshey; five and a half great grandchildren, Bayley, Ellie, Jack, Maverick, Leo and another granddaughter due in April; sister, Iva Lou Martie of New Martinsville, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2021, Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2021. Burial to follow in the West Union Cemetery near Sardis, OH.
