Patrick Eugene Martin, age 60, of Bryant, SD died February 4, 2021, at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bryant, SD. Pastor LeRoy Boender will officiate. Music will be provided by Steph Sauder.

Visitation will be at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bryant, SD, on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 5-7 PM.

Burial will be at Erwin Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Don Bouza, Charlie Winkler, Verne Jensen, Silas Winkler, Brody Larson, and Jordan Hargens. Honorary pallbearers are all of Pat's friends and family.

Pat, the third of seven children of Donald and Mary (Goldsmith) Martin was born November 22, 1960, and grew up on a rural Erwin farm that he would later own.

Coca-Cola, Copenhagen, cows, carpentry, kids and connections summarized Pat. Pat moved through his life as a charming character with a twinkle in his eye. Quick with a friendly jab or offer to assist, friendships came easily. From Erwin Elementary to Hamlin High School right through to earning his associates degree at USD-Springfield (where he got an A in dance class and the school later became a prison), Pat loved to share an adventure and its story.

Pat and Kay (Nelson), friends since high school, found love and were married on October 28, 1995. They shared the dance floor, a lot of laughter and a lot of arguments. Partners to the end.

Pat loved his children and was so proud of their accomplishments. He adored being a grandfather and found joy in family time whether belly-bumping, stringing a perch line or visiting the sales barn. From weekend wrestling tournaments to rodeos and fireworks, Pat's adventures got him into a few scrapes along the way. He said he learned patience as life came full circle from farming with his dad to building a house with his son.

Pat is survived by his wife, Kay, and three children: James (Grace) Martin of Sioux Falls, SD, Nicole (Michael) Harmon of Sioux Falls, SD and Eugene Martin of Erwin, SD, and grandchildren Cooper Harmon, Bellamy Harmon, and Baby Martin (on the way). He is also survived by his mother, Mary Martin, siblings Joe, Amy, Jackie, Lora & Lisa and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald Martin, brother John, his uncles Jack and Lyle and beloved grandparents.
