Nettie Virginia (Sayers) Hedrick was born in Manassas, Virginia to Newton and Annie (Allen) Sayers. She was the third of nine children. Her siblings were: Mary Hayth, Charlotte Kerlin, Minnie Baggott/Houghton, Benjamin, Robert, Blanche Beach, Grace Sayers and Rebecca Herbert.
She grew up on Massadale Farm in Nokesville, Virginia.
On August 21, 1901, she married Other William Hedrick. Together, they had three children: Clyde Hedrick, Lee Aubrey Hedrick and Mabel (Hedrick) Dorough.
She died at the age of 47 due to illness.
