Jonathan Hayes Edwards was born on May 15th, 1949 in Wrentham, MA, the son of Wilfred Carl and Cecile Marie Ann (Pepin) Edwards. He grew up with two brothers and one sister, Carl, David and Gloria. He attended high school, graduating from King Philip High School in Wrentham, and then graduated from Bryant College in 1980, majoring in Criminal Justice. He met this pretty, petite girl named Susan Gail Dumas, and she married Jon on May 27th, 1967, in Wrentham, MA. This union was blessed with two children, Dawn Edwards-Watson and Jonathan Edwards Jr. Jon worked in Law Enforcement from 1971 until 1986. That was just the icing on the cake. He was an author, artist, musician and producer, he was a licensed insurance adjuster in four states, and loved the farming life. Jon played piano on a cruise line, produced great recordings in the studio with his son, and traveled extensively. Jon golfed on Maui and Myrtle Beach, watched the sun rise on Figi, Hawaii and Samoa, and lunched with Peter, Paul and Mary. Hes had lunch with Ray Peteson, and Jon Osorio, and attended concerts by Al Stewart, Eric Burden, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and Foghat. He loved taking his children camping, traveled the Ozarks extensively on motorcycle, and traveled old Route 66, just to admire the scenery. Jon liked canoeing the Connecticut River, lived in Hawaii for 13 years, Florida for 6, and never seemed to run out of friends and fun. He was a member of the 5C,s Car Club here in Tahlequah, and loved to joke and tease with his family and friends. He loved working in the garden with his granddaughter, Jasmine and spending time with his grandchildren, just watching them grow. To Jon, every day was a gift, and he was enjoying the party! The best part of life for Jon was being with his loving wife, and surrounded by their children and grandchildren. It didn’t matter if they were hunting deer or heading to Disneyworld, as long as he was with his family, he was happy. Jon was a Christian by faith and attended First Christian Church of Tahlequah, OK. He loved everybody and it showed, there were no strangers in Jon’s world. The Lord called this adventurous spirit home from his many labors on February 4th, 2021 in Tahlequah, OK, following a courageous fight with Covid-19. Jon was 71 years young. The world has been a better place for Jon being in it.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his Mother and Father, one brother, David Edwards and his granddaughter, Jasmine Alaina Leilani Edwards.

His love for life and everything in it will be forever cherished by his wife, Susan Edwards of the home, his daughter, Dawn Watson and husband Jerome of Tahlequah, and his son, Jonathan Edwards Jr and companion Danielle Ross also of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves behind his brother Carl Edwards and wife Mary Lou of Rhode Island and one sister, Gloria Foster of New Hampshire. Jon lives on through his four grandchildren, Jerome Watson Jr of Tahlequah, Kayla Watson of Ft. Gibson, OK, Jonathan Edwards III of Tulsa, OK, and Justin Edwards also of Tulsa, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.

Jon was cremated and his ashes flown to Hawaii and Washington state to be scattered.
