Mr. Madrid, 25, died Saturday, September 15, 2001 west of Artesia.
Michael was born August 9, 1976 in Artesia; the son of Sam Salinas Madrid and Beatrice Bueno Madrid. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia until moving to Las Cruces in 1994. On March 9, 2001, he was married to Veronica J. Valdez in Las Cruces.
He was a department manager for Walmart and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Las Cruces. He was also a drummer for the band "Todo".
He was preceded in death by his father in 1994 and his mother-in-law Stella Valdez in 1993.
Survivors include his wife Veronica Madrid of the family home; mother Beatrice Madrid of Artesia; father-in-law Danny D. Valdez, Sr. and wife Christne of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother Anthony Guerrero of Artesia; a sister Tracie Marie Madrid of Artesia; grandparents Joe and Geneva Bueno of Artesia and Maria Rivas of Artesia.
