Passed away Sunday at Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton.

Son of Sylvanus, Sr. and Naomi Bugher Ellis.
Married Barbara Farmer Ellis June 21, 1956 in Hammond, Indiana. She preceded him in death December 11, 2020.
Survivors include sons William Ellis (Christopher Goodbeer ) and Ronald (Michele) Ellis; daughters Terri Fisher and Jodi (Mark) Jackson; brother Harvey (Marilyn) Ellis; daughter in law Barb Ellis; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; special dog, Sophie; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his foster parents William and Etna Jones, step-father Casmir Chavious, brothers Richard Ellis and Sylvanus Ellis, Jr., sisters Lois Stout and Alice Stash, son Ricky Ellis and son-in-law Doug Fisher.

He was a retired manager for Penstar Group Homes, owner of the Rockville Flower Shop for many years, served as minster for Harmony Church of Christ, antique dealer, auctioneer and was a teacher’s aide for Rockville High School.

1954 graduate of Rockville High School.
Attended Purdue University.

He was a member of the Harmony Church of Christ, former Rockville Jaycees, Rockville Optimist Club and Parke County Bowling Association. He was past president of the Rockville Community School Board and Parke County Mental Health Association.

He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, bowling, antiques and spending time with his grandchildren.
