Mr. Bailey was born August 30, 1949 in Spartanburg, a son of the late Fred Hope Bailey and Lillie Mae Sweat Bailey. He was retired as a Building Inspector from the City of Spartanburg. Mr. Bailey was a member of Pacolet First Baptist Church and was attending Bethabara Baptist Church of Cross Hill. He retired as Fire Chief of Pacolet Fire Department and had been a faithful member of Pacolet Mills Rescue Squad.
Surviving are three daughters, Renee Ragan of Spartanburg, Kelly Anderson and husband Jason of Pacolet, and Karen Jackson and husband Cody of Pacolet; five grandchildren, Stacie Ragan, Kristen Ragan, Jacob Jackson, Brianna Jackson, and Emily Anderson; and three great-grandchildren Peyton Gill, Karson Sherbert, and Kadien Sherbert. He was predeceased by one great-granddaughter, Paisley Gill and two brothers, Gene Bailey and Donald Bailey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Friends of Faith Baptist Church, 190 Church St., Pacolet conducted by the Rev. Johnny Burgess and Rev. Phil Cook. Burial will follow at Pacolet First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Anderson, Cody Brandon, Chad Henderson, Richard Cassel, Steve Harris, and Doug Harris. The Pacolet Fire Department will serve as the honorary escort.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
