Rosa Elia Hernandez (nee Gonzalez) passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Age 90.

Preceded in death by her husband, Jose M. Hernandez; son, Rudy Hernandez; parents, Jose and Herendina Gonzalez and brothers, Efrain, Raul, and Jose Jr..

Mother of Rosa (Robert) Bowring, Joe Hernandez Jr., Nina (Ray) Shannon, Ricardo Hernandez, Janie (Michael) Lewis, Gloria Schulz, Linda (Steve) Ludwig, Daniel Hernandez, Israel (Greta) Hernandez. Grandma of 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Rosa loved to sing and dance. She was a radio singer when she met her husband. She was a homemaker in Mt. Vernon, Washington taking care of her 10 children. She was a migrant worker during the summer. She would always make her strawberry and raspberry jelly during the seasons. She loved to cook and taught all her girls to make tortillas. She even had her own little restaurant on Mitchell Street and a grocery store on 31st and National Ave. Rosa was an excellent seamstress and didn’t even need a pattern. Her specialty was wedding and quinceanera dresses. Rosa and Jose retired in Del Rio, TX for 15 years. Within that time she and Jose fulfilled their life long dream of traveling to Europe. They returned to Milwaukee to be closer to family. She loved to watch General Hospital and was an avid reader of Mexican novelas.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin Wisconsin on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM with Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Burial at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
