Bessie Doster Cookman, 97, of Anderson went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2021 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus.
She was born on May 28, 1923 in Amity, Arkansas to George W. and Lillie P. (Orrick) Doster.
She was employed in production at Guide Lamp for 30 years and retired in 1978. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. She loved to garden and sew. She was a wonderful mother and was loved by all.
She is survived by her children, Darlene (David) Ehrhart, Teresa Covington, and Darell (Luann) Cookman; three grandchildren, Scott (Mike Smith) Cookman, Lillie (Mark) Romero and Samantha Ehrhart; and a great-grandchild, Belle Rose Romero and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clem "Ben" Cookman; son-in-law, Thomas Covington; three brothers, and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 12 noon at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Gary Woodring officiating. Burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery.
