Johnny M. Long, age 80, of Springville, Alabama passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. He was a longtime member and ordained Deacon at First Baptist Church of Springville. He was retired from the Anniston Army Depot with 25 years of service and was honorably discharged from the Alabama National Guard. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaines L. Long; mother, Thelma Wisner; sisters, Frances Long, Loraine Cook, Bobbie L. Taylor and Winifred McAvoy.
Mr. Long is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie Long; daughter, Wendy Ryals (Randy); grandchildren, Kelsey Rodgers (Nick) and Kaitlyn Knight (Gavin); six beloved great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Otwell, Brenda Riddle and Glenda McAnnally; brothers, Ronnie Wisner and George Wisner and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Springville City Cemetery. Rev. Larry Wimberly will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Gavin Knight, Nick Rodgers, Jody Riddle, Wayne Fore, Joe Cox and David Fowler.
