The death occurred at Maldon on Wednesday afternoon of Mr. John D. Grigg, a highly-esteemed resident, at the age of 45 years, from miners' complaint. The deceased gentleman, who was born at Porcupine, had lived in Maldon all his life. He always took a deep interest in local affairs, and was the immediate past president of the Maldon A.M.E.A., of which body he had been president several times, as well as a delegate to conferences and executive meetings. He was also secretary of the Rifle Club, a prominent member and P.G. of the M.U.I.O.O.F. He also rendered valuable assistance at sports meetings and charitable affairs. A widow and three children are left to mourn their loss. The remains will be interred in the local cemetery on Friday.
