Obituary of Velma Hoffmann
Velma Hoffmann age 94, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota died on February 2, 2021, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota.

Private services will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel, on Monday, February 8, 2021.

The clergy will be Father Mark Steffl. Interment will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota.

Velma Josephine Hoffmann age 94 died peacefully on February 2nd, 2021 surrounded by her sons. Velma was born on November 15th, 1926 to Edward and Bertha (Luchtel) Kerkhoff in Morgan, MN. She graduated from Morgan Public High School in 1944. She married Marcel Hoffmann Nov. 26th, 1946 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Morgan, MN. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Christian Mother’s Society, Catholic Order of Foresters, C.C.W. She played an active role in the grain and cattle farming operations of her sons. She enjoyed making food for everyone and running errands while speeding in her Cadillac. Velma loved working in her garden and taking care of her flowers and fruit trees. She enjoyed reading, traveling and dancing. Velma enjoyed attending her late husband Marcel’s Army reunions; including traveling across the United States, and especially to different islands.

Velma is survived by sons Dean Hoffmann and Brad (Julie)Hoffmann. Granddaughters, Meredith (Andy) Sutton, Ashley (KC) Corkery, Dana (Dave) Dunford, Rielle Hoffmann, Ace & Maleah Berry; and 6 great-grand children.

She was preceded in death by husband Marcel, and sons Marcel Jr. and Lynn Hoffmann. Her Mother and Father, brother Mervin Kerkhoff, and sisters Darlene Peterson, and Bonnie McCargar.
