Herman T (Tom) Anderson of Haltom City passed away on Thursday, January 28th in Fort Worth, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and caring husband. He was born on October 11, 1924 in Madris, Texas to Jesse and Delphia Anderson.

Tom served his country honorably during WWII as a corporal in Battery A of the 270th Field Artillery Battalion of the 3rd Army. Campaigns included Normandy, Northern France, The Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. After being discharged he married Neva Mae Mills and soon settled in Fort Worth. Tom worked for the Safeway grocery stores as an Assistant Manager/Store Manager at several locations. As a member of Haltom Road Baptist church, he taught Sunday school and served as a deacon.

From age 62 to his 80s Tom played softball with the Senior Cats out of Fort Worth. Many memories and friendships were built and enjoyed during the many games and travel to tournaments. He also worked alongside his brother Joe with the Texas Baptist men building churches and camp facilities across the state.

Tom is survived by his brother, Joe Anderson; sister, Connie (Elza) Summerville; daughter, Linda Knait and her husband James; their children, Meagan and Jason; His son Carl and his wife Ann; their daughter, Carly Ann and son Austin; and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Neva Mae and several siblings.
