First husband was William Saunders whom she married prior to 1832 in New York. Had six children named John S., Philander L., Horrace, Stephen Haselton, Lucinda Jane, and Gabriel T. William Saunders died about 1844 in Lenawee County, Michigan. Climena married second David Thompson about 1845 and had three children named Bryant, Joseph, and Abagail. Three of the Saunders' children and two of the Thompson children as well as second husband David Thompson are buried in the Fisher Hill Cemetery. Climena Thompson's death certificate from 1900 indicates that she was buried in Algansee. There are two known cemeteries in Algansee Township, Branch County, Michigan -- Fisher Hill and Lester (with the exception of the Amish Cemetery). Climena was living with her son-in-law Charles McCarty and daughter Abbie in the 1900 Census in Quincy Township, Branch County, Michigan. Climena was more than likely interred in the Fisher Hill Cemetery next to her second husband David Thompson, but the author of this memorial could not locate a gravestone with her name on it.
