Edward Velasquez Terry
April 15, 1954 ~ February 2, 2021 (age 66)
Edward Velasquez Terry, 66, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021, in Jonesboro. Mr. Terry was a native of El Salvador and a resident of Hamburg for over 50 years. He worked for the Georgia-Pacific Plywood Mill for 28 years. After taking an early retirement from Georgia-Pacific, he spent time doing what he loved, working with cows, and he lovingly took care of his wife, Charyl, until she passed away in 2016. He enjoyed spending time outside in the fields, at the ponds, or on his tractor. He was always ready to work, would lend help or a helping hand to anyone that needed it, and he always had his own opinion. Mr. Terry was a devoted husband, brother, and uncle to many. A great dad and grandpa to his children and grandchildren, he will be missed by many people from many places.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Charyl Peters Terry; a granddaughter, Peyton Terry; his parents, Asencion & Hermenegilda Velasquez; a brother Carlos Alberto Velasquez and a sister, Maria Agustina Velasquez.

He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Terry of Hamburg; two sons, Staven Terry and wife, Jessie, and Toby Terry and wife, Jaci, all of Hamburg; his father-in-law, John Peters of Hamburg; a sister, Bertha Velasquez Sanchez and husband, Manuel, of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Miguel Angel Velasquez of Hamburg and Juan Ramon Velasquez of El Salvador; six grandchildren, Chloe Daniel, Sean Daniel, Ethan Daniel, Jaylee Terry, Drake Terry and Adley Terry and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are 2 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Zion Cemetery with Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn Chavez, Edward Chavez, Oscar Lopez, Brian Velasquez, Jose T. Sanchez Lopez and Brandon Lloyd.
