Roger Velton Oliver, 67, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at Gospel Chapel, 1550 Hwy 49 South, Richland, MS. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories in Florence, MS.

Roger was born August 5, 1953 son of the late Eulis Velton and Majorie Oliver in Eupora, MS. After retiring from a career in shipbuilding, he moved from his home in Grand Bay, AL to Florence, MS where he was attending Gospel Chapel. He loved his family dearly. He was a man of strong principles and was an outstanding provider for his family. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Along with his parents, he is also predeceased by his sisters, Jane Merchant and Cheryl Fore. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Oliver of Florence; son, Thomas (Mihaela) Oliver of Florence; daughter, Angela (Eric) Ellis of Florence; 5 grandchildren, Daniela Oliver, T.J. Oliver, Joel Ellis, Caleb Ellis, and Noah Ellis; brother, Trent Oliver; and numerous nieces and nephews
