OXFORD- Jason Parker "Jay" Garrett, 51, of Dorsey Road, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his home. Born on April 14, 1969 in Franklin County, he was the son of Herbert Marshall Garrett, Jr. and Hilda Faulkner Garrett of Henderson. Jay was a manager at M & H Tires & Treads in Creedmoor and a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his daughters and granddaughter. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Gardens by Rev. Cam Ford. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lori Matthews Garrett of the home; three daughters, Kayla Janiga and husband, John of Oxford, Parker Garrett and Saige Garrett, both of the home; a granddaughter, Ivey Janiga; and a brother, Herbert "Trae" Marshall Garrett, III of Savannah, GA. The family will receive friends following the service at Sunset Gardens. Serving as active pallbearers will be Trae Garrett, Jerry Matthews, Joel Creech, Skip Wiegersma, Steve Owens and Nick Bolton. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the South Granville Country Club. Attendees at the service and visitation are asked to wear appropriate face coverings and practice social distancing.
