Douglas A. Norton, 64 of Findlay passed away at his residence on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021. He was born on April 10, 1956 in Findlay to Maynard Norton (deceased) and Alberta Norton Peterson, his mother survives. He married Karen Risser on November 29, 1975 and she preceded him in death on January 11, 2018. Also surviving are children, Douglas II (Lindsey) Norton, Maynard Norton and Angie (Floyd) Bryant; grandchildren, Tori and Eugene Phoenix and Douglas III, Jenna and Bryson Norton, Shelby, Coby and Wesley Norton; siblings, Diana (Thomas) Lorenz, Deb (Steve) Short and Dean (Tammy) Norton. He was also preceded in death by a son, Nickolas. Doug worked for many years for the Whirlpool Corporation, he was a graduate of Findlay High School (1974) and served in the US Army (1978-1982). He bowled in several leagues over the years and was a sports enthusiast, especially for The Ohio State Buckeyes. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Michael Wise officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery where the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will present full military rites. Visitation will be held for one hour prior (1:00-2:00pm) Friday at the funeral home. Memorials can be directed to Bridge Hospice and online condolences can be shared by visiting coldrencrates.com. Due to the pandemic, masks are required by Doug's family for all attending the visitation and service.
