Edwin Parker Gates, 77, retired Pangburn Candy salesman, died Wednesday, June 7, 1995, of cancer at his home. Services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Crenshaw United Methodist Church where he was a member with burial in Longtown Cemetery near Crenshaw.
He was a World War II Air Force veteran and a member of the Crenshaw Lions Club.
Mr. Gates, the husband of Catherine Howze Gates, also leaves a daughter, Kitty Woolf of Midland, GA; two sons, Edwin Parker Gates of Livington, AL and Ted Allen Gates of Dothan, AL; a sister, Virginia Ann Gates of Memphis; a brother, Luther Gates of Jackson; and four grandchildren.
The family requests that any memorials be sent to Crenshaw United Methodist Church or Lapidus Memorial Library in Crenshaw.
