James Francis Jordan was a cooper by trade. Married Sarah Cannon 30 Apr 1846 and Set Sail from Liverpool, England on the Ship Siddons Bound for America. Monday 5 March 1855 on board ship Sarah delivered a son named him Heber Siddons Jordan. Wednesday they landed at Philadelphia and three days later the Heber passed away. While working at the mill his arm mangled in the machinery. After his arm healed sufficiently it was fitted with a hook which he wore the rest of his life. After the accident he decided there were better opportunities in other fields. He moved to Clover Creek, Tooele, Utah. While there he was made Bishop of that Ward. James loved horses and always had a fine team. Sarah died 1890 and 1891 James married Ellen Boughton of Clover Creek she came from Gosport, Hampshire, England. Ellen was younger than James but she was very kind to him. James passed away in Clover Creek in 1900 and buried in Clover Creek cemetery.
