Lynda M. Jones, 71, of Edenton, NC and formerly of Chesapeake, VA, went to be with the Lord, Monday, February 1, 2021 at her home.
Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward Miltier and Christine Ellsworth Miltier. She was a 1968 graduate of Oscar Smith High School. Lynda retired from Harvest Assembly of God, where she was the pastor's secretary for 20 years. For most of her life, Lynda was actively involved in her church activities. A longtime church choir member, she will be remembered for her love of singing and dancing. Most of all, she had a kind spirit, and always looked for ways to care for others.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Arthur Hunter Jones, Sr.; a son, Arthur Hunter Jones, Jr.; a daughter, Tara Preston (Ronny); grandchildren, Brittany Kimber (Chris) and Casey Preston; great-grandchildren, Lilleigh, Logan and Abigail; sisters, Carolyn Richards, Shirley Creart, Denise Miltier; a brother, Tommy Miltier, a sister-in-law, Donna Johnson (Alan) as well nieces, nephews and extended family.
The interment will be private in Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
